"Batching" is a popular business practice that you can use in your regular life to simplify things and cut some stress. I'll give you three suggestions for ways to do that and an example in my life using this very podcast.

Dec 6, 2017

I talk about clearing out non-beneficial aspects of my life to make room for the important things.

Nov 22, 2017

Three things I'm thankful for.

Nov 8, 2017

In this episode, I'll tell you about how I'm trying to learn how not to sweat the small stuff, a four year old's idea of good YouTube content, and a road trip my wife and I took north to Lake Erie.

Sometimes you just gotta rant and in this episode, I do just that about “Bustin’ Slack” (Wearing your pants below your butt cheeks.) I also tell you a story about doing voice over work, and I admit to a pretty powerful addiction to ice cream sundaes.

This episode is being released just a few days before Halloween, so I thought I'd theme it that way.

5 Things That Scare The Pants Off Me

2. Zombies

3. Zombies covered in scorpions

4. If Netflix ever decides to stop streaming The Office

5. The Scorpions (The hair band) getting back together or touring again

I'll also tell a few stories about my days being obsessed with Dracula and I'll update my diabetes fight

Dave Jackson from www.schoolofpodcasting.com plays heavily in this episode as I explain why he is the reason I've discovered a way to revive the continuity of this podcast and why he would probably hate this podcast. Well, "hate" may be too strong a word, but "not care for it at all" might fit. He critiques and gives his first impression of podcasts at www.podcastrodeo.com and I have been known to do most of the things that get under his skin in this show. Here's the rub: I think he's right about all of it and he's been a big help as I try to put on big boy podcasting britches. In between all that, you can hear all about how I think scheduling a Disney vacation right after Christmas may not have been the smartest move.

My wife and I took our dream trip for two to Disney World as a second honeymoon in August. Let me tell you all about it.

Also, there are some changes coming to the release schedule of this podcast, at least for a while.

I find it difficult to follow my own advice sometimes, and that includes all the advice I've given about staying focused. I've become fragmented again when it comes to my projects and pulling myself back together takes some thought and strategy. Maybe you can glean something productive from this episode.

We come to the end of my career journey with the stories of my time as an insurance "Debit" agent, a testimony of God's deliverance via the long way around (my fault), and into my current career as a granite gravestone artist.

Jul 26, 2017

Still riding the career train of my history, we hit on four stops on the way to what I do now: Organ Salesman (the musical kind), Delivery Driver, Locksmith, and Parent Aid for the Department of Family and Children Services.

This week's Question To Ponder:

If you could commit one crime and knew that you'd get away with it, what would it be?

Jul 19, 2017

Not in the car this week, but in my home studio, we'll continue through the muddy mess that has been my working history. I hit on my very short stint as a seller of Honda and Yamaha motorcycles and watercraft, then I stomach through the hell that was my two year run in a small finance office.

I'll also be transparent about the last couple of weeks following my wreck and other stuff life threw at my family that put me in a very bad place mentally for a few days.

No question to ponder this week or review.

Jul 11, 2017

We'll take a break from my work history in this episode to do a little therapy. Saturday, June 30th, 2017 was a day that saw me very seriously and very nearly die. I was involved in a nasty crash in I-85 N in Georgia, brought on by inclement weather. Had it happened any other way than it did, I likely would not be here today. As it was, I walked away sore, but for the most part, uninsured. I spend this episode retelling the story and at the end, I include some audio that I had been recording right before the accident.

***NOTE***

If you're saying to yourself, "Hey! I just downloaded this. Why is is downloading again like it's a new episode?" or "Hey! I downloaded this and it's not working, but now it's like a new episode of the same episode appeared and I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.", fear not. There was sump'n funky that happened when I uploaded the file the first time and it put it on my host something like three times, which meant it took more than half the data space for the month that I pay for. The only solution was to delete everything from the first upload kerfuffle and start over. Now I have the right data space and the world is all good.

Continuing the trek through my career fields, we come to a short stint with Honda/Yamaha of Anderson, SC and the meat of the episode's content - my employment as a Walmart Portrait photographer.

There were a lot of bubbles involved.

I'll also hit on last week's and this week's Question To Ponder and I'll review my Father's Day gift ... The BREO hand massager.

The part of my life that this episode will recall was a quick, but disjointed time. It seems fitting that this episode became fraught with trouble from technical problems that caused a few audio issues I’m not happy with, to heavy rain and dead cell phone batteries. While I toyed with the idea of deleting the whole shebang, I ultimately decided that life is messy and I want to be authentic. So here is episode 76, warts and all. I quit working at the radio station in Anderson, SC to become a part of what was supposed to be a traveling Broadway Revue troup. It didn’t turn out that way, but during the course of this forgettable “life lesson”, I did a short stint with Terminix pest control. Enjoy the story.
